This site

This site is made with 11ty as my static site generator of choice, with nunjucks as my templating language. This tutorial was immensely helpful for me in getting started with 11ty. I also use flexbox as my choice of layout module, which allows my site to be resized for other screen sizes. It's hosted on the free static website hosting service known as Nekoweb, and deployed using Deploy2Nekoweb.

Operating System

I use EndeavourOS as my choice of operating system for my desktop PC, which is an Arch-based Linux distribution. It's a lightweight distro that ships with a minimum amount of preinstalled apps, making it almost like a blank canvas that's ripe for personalization. Highly recommend it if you're looking for the Arch Linux experience, but want something a bit easier to install and manage than Arch itself.

I also use EndeavourOS on my laptop, but I used to use Linux Mint on it for a good while, on the Cinnamon desktop environment. However, as I've started to use my laptop more due to needing to rest in bed more often, I decided to make the switch to a distro that supports KDE Plasma 6, since it's easily my favourite DE at the moment. I enjoyed my time using Mint, and I do still recommend it as a good entry-level Linux distro, but it didn't have everything I've come to love about Arch-based systems.

Favourite Software

Software Name Comments
Terminal Kitty Not much to say, besides the fact that I'm a sucker for customization. Here is my Fastfetch for my desktop PC by the way.
DE KDE Plasma My DE of choosing when first starting off with EndeavourOS, ended up liking it enough to stay. I feel it has the right balance between being intuitive, and offering a good amount of customisation.
App menu Rofi Replacement for dmenu for customisation, you can see how I've themed mine on my desktop PC here.
Browser Waterfox Fork of Firefox to avoid Mozilla's stupid AI bullshit. Librewolf is probably better, but I like that you can easily sync bookmarks and history using Firefox accounts.
IDE VSCodium VSCode fork without Microsoft's trackers. I love this software, and I have a ton of extensions and settings I've applied to it below. Love it's customisability and choice of extensions, I think it's relatively easy to use and has a ton of quality-of-life features that make coding much more simple.
Text editor Kate Came packaged with KDE Plasma. Works fine, I really only use it to edit small bits of code and to backup my Toyhouse profile codes in.
Notes Obsidian Can't sing enough high praise for Obsidian. Highly customisable with a wide range of extensions. I've been taking daily notes in it for almost 3 years now.
Word processor LibreOffice FOSS alternative to Microsoft Word, I use it for putting together documents when need be.
Music player Strawberry Fork of Clementine. I've tried a few other digital music players for Linux, but I always keep going back to Strawberry. Works wonderfully for what I need it to do, and it has Discord Rich Presence.
Media player VLC Media Player Ole reliable.
Image editing Krita Still getting used to it's UI after leaving Clip Studio behind when I switched to Linux, but I quite like it. Very powerful piece of software, considering it's completely free. Open source as well, can't go wrong with Krita.
Torrenting Deluge I used to use qBittorrent until it broke on me one day when I still used Windows. Haven't switched back since though, I find Deluge works just as fine.
Recording OBS Again, ole reliable.
Screenshotting Spectacle Came packaged with KDE Plasma, no complaints. Includes both screenshotting and screen recording.
Virtual Machine Oracle VirtualBox I think Vinesauce Joel used to use VirtualBox for his Windows Destruction streams, so that's what I chose for my own virtual machines.
Virtual Reality ALVR This was the only one I could get properly working with my setup.

Art

For digital art, I use Procreate on an iPad 9th generation with a 1st generation Apple Pencil the most. I also use Krita and Microsoft Paint on an XP-Pen Artist Pro 13.3", but only on rare occasions since this tablet causes me a great amount of pain.

For 3D modeling, I use Nomad Sculpt on my iPad for the actual sculpting, CozyBlanket for retopology, and B For Artists for any final adjustments.

Traditionally, I use Ohuhu alcohol markers, Prismacolor Scholar pencil crayons, Mungyo Gallery soft oil pastels, Decoart Americana acrylic paints, and Gellyroll gel pens. My marker art is done on Ohuhu 7.6" x 10" 200GSM marker pad paper, and I use a variety of surfaces for my acrylic paintings.

Digital brushes

Currently, I use an untextured version of the default Studio Pen available in Procreate on various opacity percentages for nearly everything. I also sometimes use the default airbrushes.

Fursuit Building

My choice of sewing machine is a Singer 328J from the 1960's using Singer size 16 needles. I usually use Gütermann polyester thread for both machine and hand sewing, as well as their upholstery thread for hand sewing (I can't recommend using upholstery thread unless you plan on burning your ends, however. This thread does not tie off.)

I don't get my fabric from just one source, and many of my sources can be found on the links page. For head lining I do stick with using Big Z's color-fast (non-bleeding) techno neoprene the most, however. I also prefer to cuff handpaws with ribbed knit cuffing fabric.

Information about 3D printing will be available when I start 3D printing suit parts in the future.

Other tools of the trade include:

  • Fiskars spring-loaded scissors (cutting fabric)
  • Gorilla Glue high-low temp glue gun & glue sticks
  • Fuzzbutt Fursuits' Mannie the mannequin head
  • Tailor's chalk (marking stretchy fabric, I.E. neoprene)
  • Sewing clips (alternative to pins)
  • Sminiker pet clippers
